Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has reacted to being named the African Club Coach of the Year by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).

Having lifted his third CAF Champions League title of his career and securing a medal at the FIFA Club World Cup, the South African was duly honoured.
“I’m so honoured to have received this award and ranking. Thank you to IFFHS for the award,” he wrote on social media.
“I’d like to thank my technical team Al Ahly, the players, the Board, President El Khatib and all my supporters in Africa for always supporting me. Alhamdulillah.”
Fellow South African Victor Gomes was also listed amongst the winners as he scooped the Best Referee in Africa award.
