PSL Finds Arrows & Mbhele Guilty

Golden Arrows and Simo Mbhele will find out their fate next week, after PSL Prosecutor Zola Majavu confirmed they were found guilty of an improper registration.

Arrows and Mbhele were charged because it is believed that the 23-year-old did not have his international clearance when he joined the club from Portuguese fourth-tier outfit 1º Dezembro before the start of the season. When unveiled by Arrows, Mbhele was reported to have joined from Squash FC.

While Majavu confirmed the parties were found not guilty of dishonestly and propriety, they were found to have improperly registered the player.

They will find out their fate next Tuesday, when the DC decides the appropriate sanction.

“I hereby provide you with an update pertaining to the DC matter. Between Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club together with its player, Mr. Simo Bright Mbhele, who were charged for impropriety pertaining to the registration of Mr. Mbhele,”  Majavu said in his statement.

“The matter was fully argued before the DC last week, where after the DC adjourned, the proceedings having reserved the ruling.

“The ruling has now come in, and the DC has found as follows One, with regard to the allegations of dishonesty and impropriety pertaining to how the registration of Mr Mbhele was procured, the DC found both Mr Mbhele and Golden Arrows Football Club not guilty.

“However, the DC found both Mr Mbhele and Golden Arrows Football Club guilty on the basis that the registration of the player was itself improper. Having been so convicted, the matter now needs to proceed to the final stage, namely that of determining the appropriate sanction.

“The matter will be enrolled for hearing on sanction on the 15th of February at 17h00, where both parties will be given an opportunity to make their closing submissions.

“Once the DC has deliberated and pronounced itself on the ruling, apropos the appropriate sanction, I will similarly communicate that to everybody. Until then, and as always, I will not be drawn into any running commentary beyond what I have stated.”
