Orlando Pirates secured back to back home wins for the first time this season with a 2-1 comeback victory over AmaZulu to finish 2021 in second-place in the DStv Premiership.
Ghana striker Kwame Peprah who took 13 games to open his account for the club has now scored four in two after his brace against Usuthu.
The visitors opened the scoring in the fourth minute as two former Buccaneers – Thabo Qalinge and Luvuyo Memela – combined for a sensational effort.
The 34-year-old winger times his run into the area with perfection with ‘Section 10’ sliding in a reverse pass and he slotted home past Siyabonga Mpontshane with ease.
But pirates fought back valiantly in their final game at Orlando Stadium through the striker that was roped in for R2.3-million from King Faisal in the off-season.
The first saw him teed up by Namibia international Deon Hotto and the second was just two minutes into the second half.
Three points for the Soweto giants move them into second in the South African top-flight at the mid-season break with plenty of positives to take forward after a slow start to the 2021/22 campaign.
