Rulani Coy On Mbule & Mokoena Talk
Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Rulani Mokwena was coy to talk about speculation linking the champions with a move for Sipho Mbule and Teboho Mokoena.
Masandawana have brought in six new players this window so far, namely Pavol Safranko, Divine Lunga, Neo Maela, Sifiso Ngobeni, Thabiso Kutumela and Grant Kekana.
However, the talk around SuperSport United duo Mbule and Mokoena never died down, with both of them also being linked with Kaizer Chiefs.
As time is running out on deadline day, it seems unlikely the duo will still leave Matsatsantsa before the window closes.
Mokoena, though, did indicate that Downs were still looking to add another midfielder after the injury to Lebohang Maboe.
“We have one or two situations, and unfortunately also now with Lebo Maboe’s injury, long-term injury. We have about one or two people short in the midfield,” Mokwena told iDiski Times recently.
Despite the rising need for another midfielder Mokoena remained tightlipped when asked about Downs interest in the SuperSport United duo.
“There’ll always be speculation, you know. And of course we can’t run away from that, they’ve got some talented players, some players that have enormous potential and some players that have always had interest in, but we’ve got also respect SuperSport, we can’t speak about players that currently belong to SuperSport,” he added.
