Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Rulani Mokwena has reacted to his side’s win over Kaizer Chiefs, saying the players gave the perfect reaction on the pitch.
The reigning DStv Premiership champions beat Amakhosi on Sunday after Grant Kekana and Peter Shalulile scored for Masandawana.
Mokwena was pleased with his side after they netted two goals for a first time in the league this season despite some distractions in the build-up to the game.
“The elephant is out of the room. Old news, we move and now the talking is on the pitch,” he told SuperSport TV after the match.
Mokwena also praised Denis Onyango for his performance on the night.
“The players did the talking, top performance and I just have to single Denis Onyango,” he added.
“I seldom do because football is a team performance, but big, big save from Onyango allowed us to have that momentum and go for the killer.
“That’s why he’s one of the best in the world and one of the best on the African continent. But overall, top performance and kudos to boys, excellent, excellent football.”
