Seema Praises Players Despite A Loss To City

Golden Arrows coach Lehlohonolo Seema was full of praise for his troops despite their loss against Cape Town City.

Abafana Bes’thende lost 4-3 to the Citizens in a DStv Premiership encounter at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

However, despite the loss, the 41-year-old tactician was impressed with his side’s performance, as they fought back from 4-0 down to score three in the second half of the match.

“I think is total performances that you will say why couldn’t we start like we did, and we cannot blame the guys I think when was the last time they played,” he said after the match.

“I think they could see that they were a bit fresher than us, and it took long for us to get into their movement they were a little sharper than us.

“And of course if you do mistakes if you are not at best, yet you’re still coming, and then you do certain mistakes, and then you get punished and by the time you try to come back it’s too little too late.

“But the credit must go to the players because half-time, 3-0 down, one will think that we are dead and buried, and we spoke to the guys we cheered them up we said we haven’t played, that is the thing.

“And second half let’s go and play our way and take the game to Cape Town city and yeah, of course we made some changes and they the guy that came in also they continued where the guys that started left.

“And I must say to the players that think that we could have at least got draw, considering the chances that we got there. It’s one of those lessons that we say let’s start from the first whistle, but I think the guys fought very well and three points lost and where we think that we could have got at least one.”

Arrows will now prepare for the clash against Swallows FC at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Tuesday, 02 November.
