Sekhukhune United took advantage of Richards Bay’s involvement in the Nedbank Cup over the weekend, as Sekhukhune moved into top spot in the GladAfrica Championship.
While Sekhukhune could only manage a draw away against AmaTuks, it was enough for them to go ahead of the Natal Rich Boyz on goal difference, however Simo Dladla’s team, who exited the cup, do now have a game in hand.
There were just five matches played this past weekend, and there were wins for struggling Steenberg United and TS Sporting, as well for Jomo Cosmos, who moved up into 5th position.
The current table:
GladAfrica action resumes tomorrow with two matches, as Royal AM host Jomo Cosmos and Cape United welcome AmaTuks.
Wednesday sees six more games – Free State Stars versus Cape Town All Stars, Richards Bay take on Pretoria Callies, Sekhukhune host Bizana Pondo Chiefs, Cape Town Spurs welcome JDR Stars, Polokwane City host Uthongathi, and TS Sporting host Steenberg United.
