Sundowns & Amazulu Release Joint Statement On Anele

Mamelodi Sundowns and Amazulu have released a joint statement following the tragic passing of Anele Ngcongca.

“AmaZulu Football Club and Mamelodi Sundowns FC are saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former Bafana Bafana player, Anele Ngcongca.”

“On Monday (23 November 2020) morning reports surfaced that a South African footballer had lost his life in a car accident in Kwazulu Natal. It has since been confirmed that the player is in fact the 33 year old defender Anele Ngcongca who had transferred from Mamelodi Sundowns to Amazulu on loan.”

“Amazulu FC and Mamelodi Sundowns FC extend their deepest condolences to the Ngcongca family, former clubs, teammates, and the broader football fraternity as well as everyone who was touched by the life of this exceptional football ambassador.”

“At this point both clubs would to request that maximum privacy be afforded the Ngcongca family during very difficult time and allow the pertinent authorities to conduct the relevant investigations.”

“More details will follow regarding the memorial and burial after consultation with the family.”

“Lala Ngoxolo Dlama, Madiba, Yem-Yem!”
