It was an interesting second round of GladAfrica Championship fixtures this past weekend, as the rookie teams sent out a warning to the rest of the league.

Having only just been promoted from the ABC Motsepe Leagues, there were wins for both North West’s Platinum City Rovers and the Northern Cape’s Hungry Lions. Both are unbeaten after two games.

On Saturday Polokwane City moved up to second with a 2-0 home win over Cape Town Spurs, Simon Ramabu and Hlayisi Chauke scoring while fourth-placed Richards Bay played to a goalless draw against Free State Stars.
