Baroka FC head coach Matsemela Thoka was disappointed in his players after their loss against SuperSport United on the weekend.
Bakgakga lost 2-0 to Matsatsantsa at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday in a DStv Premiership encounter.
The Limpopo side has not won any match against SuperSport United in their last six meetings in all competitions.
A disappointed Thoka said they could have been better with some chances during the match.
“Very disappointing results for us, We have some chances that we supposed to convert, so we missed them,” he told SuperSport TV after the match.
“But we managed the game first half because what we prepared not to concede first half, make sure we manage the game first half, and we did everything first half.
“We managed their set pieces, because we know it’s the team who play with set pieces. So going to the second half, I think a bit of losing focus more especially in the critical phases of the game.
“First goal, second goal just come after some minutes, so we lost concentration in the first minutes of the second half and that is what killed us.
“And after that you can’t do anything because you are chasing 2-0 and a team like SuperSport they can defend, they can do everything. So it has been difficult for us after conceding those two goals.”
Thoka also said that coaches shouldn’t be blamed at some point as it is the responsibility of players in the field.
“Yeah, I think three chances that I can name, so it’s all about players sometimes to take responsibility, it’s not about the coach,” he said.
“Because if you have a one-on-one with the keeper then you fail to dribble, or you fail to put the ball from the keeper, then the team will end up scoring goals from nowhere because they just go from a run of play and score two goals.
“So we have open chances there, so we failed to convert and is one of those games we need wake up and rectify.”
