Tuesday’s DSTV Premiership Results

There were wins for Swallows and Stellenbosch in Tuesday’s DSTV Premiership action.

Swallows 3-2 Cape Town City

Swallows FC beat Cape Town City 3-2 at the Dobsonville Stadium to join leaders Sundowns on 21 points.

Swallows were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute after Ruzaigh Gamildien was adjudged to have been fouled. He picked himself up from the ground and slotted it home to make it 1-0. He had another chance a minute later, but after racing clear, he was denied by Peter Leeuwenburgh.

But he did have his second in the 41st minute, as he smashed in from close range.

City pulled one back in the 54th minute when Mdu Mdantsane converted from the spot, after Thabo Matlaba handballed.

Swallows were reduced to ten men when Zaphaniah Mbokoma picked up a second yellow with 15 minutes remaining.

But despite being down to ten, moments later Junaid Sait gave Swallows their third goal, when he headed in from a corner from Lebogang Mokoena.

Tashreeq Morris also got his marching orders, when he picked up a second yellow in stoppage time.

Mdantsane added a goal moments later, heading in, but it was all too late for City.

TS Galaxy 2—2 Baroka

There were 4 goals in the second half as TS Galaxy and Baroka drew 2-2 all on Tuesday.

Ananias Gerbhardt broke the deadlock in the 55th minute to give Baroka the lead.

Gerald Phiri Jr made it 2-0 with a great free kick on the hour mark.

Shaune Mogaila pulled one back for Baroka five minute later, before Mxolisi Macuphu found the equaliser in the 84th minute.

Stellenbosch 2-0 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila

Stellenbosch picked up a good 2-0 win over TTM at the Danie Craven Stadium on Tuesday.

TTM should have been in the lead in the 18th minute, but Lee Langeveldt saved Thabo Rakhale’s penalty kick, after a Rafiq De Goede handball.

Marc Van Heerden opened the scoring in the second half, giving the home team the lead with 25 minutes to go.

Phatu Nange made it 2-0 in the 81st minute, finishing well after being played in by Ally Msengi.

Golden Arrows v Black Leopards

Heavy rains forced the postponement of this match.
