Two Overseas Bafana Stars Yet To Arrive

Bafana Bafana’s overseas based midfielders Kamohelo Mokotjo and Bongani Zungu are expected to report to camp sometime today as the team assembles for AFCON qualifiers.

South Africa play Sao Tome in back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on 13 and 16 November. The first match will take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday and kicks off at 21:00, while the second match will be played in Nelson Mandela Bay on Monday and starts at 15:00.

On Tuesday, Molefi Ntseki’s team welcomed three more overseas-based players in Dean Furman, Percy Tau and Keagan Dolly. The players were able to train with the rest of the squad in Durban.

Glascow Rangers’ Bongani Zungu has been recalled to the national team following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with fans continuously questioning his exclusion from the team. Mokotjo is also another overseas based player who has not been a regular in Ntseki’s Bafana.

The update from the camp is that both players will arrive in South Africa on Wednesday to complete the full complement of players who were called up. Bafana Bafana are in third place in Group C after playing two matches.
