Usuthu Assessing Two Former Pirates Players And Farmer

Former Orlando Pirates winger Tebogo Tlolane has made his way to AmaZulu camp for assessment.

Tlolane was quietly released by Pirates during the pre-season alongside Collins Makgaka and both are currently training with AmaZulu.

Another player that is being assessed by Usuthu is defender Denwin Farmer, who was released by Sekhukhune United last season.

Farmer, just like Tlolane, played for the Team of Choice.

Tlolane never settled at Pirates, having joined them from Chippa United ahead of the 2019/20 season. He featured in five matches in all competitions during his time there.

He spent three seasons with the Team of Choice including last term where the Umgungundlovu-based club was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Game time was also an issue at Team of Choice, featuring in just seven games last term and Pirates, based on those numbers, decided to let him.

The winger, whose nickname is Messi, was part of the makeshift Bafana Bafana squad in the COSAFA Cup that claimed the bronze medal.

If he joins Usuthu, Tlolane will be reunited with his former teammates – Wayde Jooste and Rowan Human, who all joined from relegated Maritzburg.

Another player that Usuthu is assessing is former Bidvest Wits midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase, which was revealed by this publication a few days ago.

Ntshangase, just like Human, Jooste and Tlolane, previously turned out for the Team of Choice.

Usuthu, under Spanish coach Pablo Franco Martin, on top of Human and Jooste, have signed Victor Letsoalo, Andile Mbanjwa, Siyanda Hlangabeza, Celimpilo Ngema, Mlondi Mbanjwa, Mfanafuthi Mkhize and Victorien Adebayor.

Makgaka, Farmer and Tlolane will hope to impress coach Martin to be one of the signings this season.

Usuthu, who started the 2013/24 season with a draw against Royal AM at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday, will host SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday (17:30).
