TS Galaxy goalkeeper Wensten Van Der Linde says, while the DSTV Premiership is more professional than the Glad Africa Championship, there isn’t much difference for him when it comes to football.
The former Mbombela United goalkeeper has made an impressive start to his TS Galaxy career and has kept 3 clean sheets in first four games.
Galaxy are currently 7th on the table, and remain unbeaten, with one win and three draws so far.
“For me, it is more professional in the DSTV Premiership but apart from that there isn’t much of a difference,” Van Der Linde told the TS Galaxy website.
“I’m not saying GladAfrica is not professional but there is a change. For me, it is normal. I know that I have to fight for my place in the team because there is no first choice or second choice. If you get an opportunity to play, you must make sure that you keep the jersey.”
Before playing for Mbombela, Van Der Linde had spells with AmaTuks and Milano United.
Van der Linde is also hoping the team can lift some silverware, and says Galaxy should be targeting a top eight finish in the league.
“I want to see us winning something. I want to see us fighting for something. That is my biggest goal. I don’t want to see us below number eight on the log.”
