‘We Need To Fight Extra Hard’

Willard Katsande says that Kaizer Chiefs need to show extra commitment in their coming games, as their supporters are depending on them to turn things around.

Chiefs have suffered three successive defeats, two in the DStv Premiership, on either side of their Nedbank Cup loss, and now face a tough challenge on Saturday when they host second-placed SuperSport United.

Chiefs are currently 9th on the table.

Katsande feels extra commitment is needed going forward, as there are a lot of people expecting more from them.

“Yes, the supporters are frustrated with the results at the moment, and we really understand their pain,” Katsande told the club’s media department.

“And we actually know how it is to be a Kaizer Chiefs fan wherever they are, in the offices, in the buses, in the prison, in the hospital, they just need strength from Kaizer Chiefs to do good because if Kaizer Chiefs do good, a lot of people feel good. “

“So we just need to turn the corner to make them happy wherever they are in the prison, in the hospital, in the buses in the offices, at school and wherever.”

“When we do good we know that they’re gonna feel good because Kaizer Chiefs is theirs, and Kaizer Chiefs is them, so we just need to repay them by start winning matches and try to restore their pride.”

“So we just need to fight hard. If you are fighting hard at the moment, we need to fight extra hard, it’s a matter of commitment you know, sometimes some games you need to win them by commitment, not only talent, so you just need to be more committed to give our all and try to ignore about what happened yesterday, to try to give you all today, because you don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow.”

“So what are you gonna do is to affect today, so just need to give our all our hearts in the game and try to turn the corner and then the Kaizer Chiefs supporters can also be proud with their team, proud of us, proud of everything happening.”

“So we just need to give our all and we know we can because we have the talent and we have the same group of players we’ve been having last year, and this group has so much talent in it’s just that we need to be more committed to give our all for the team, give our all for individuals, give our all to the supporters.”

“Because Kaizer Chiefs, it is a huge club, it needs people with big hearts to give your all, so talent on its own is not enough. You just need to to push hard even if you say you can’t, just keep going, keep going. Eventually everything will come good. So commitment is very, very key in order for us to make our fans happy.”
