Williams Wants Points At Harry Gwala

SuperSport United captain Ronwen Williams is hoping for a repeat result when they face Maritzburg United in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday.

It is the second meeting in just over a week at the same venue for the two clubs.

SuperSport beat Maritzburg 1-0 in the Nedbank Cup game at the Harry Gwala Stadium, and Williams says they are happy to be in the next round.

“Obviously, we are quite happy to be in the next round,” Williams told the club’s media department.

“It was a wonderful team performance. We created so many chances.

“And it’s always difficult going away to Maritzburg, it’s not easy side to play, but I think we were the better team on the day and yeah, we just happy that we grinded out the result.

“I feel obviously so much positives to take out of the game, we created so many chances. I think realistically we only gave them one or two half chances, which is good.”

The goalkeeper also added they have now switched their focus back onto the league.

“So ja, we’re looking forward to the league game,” he continued.

“It’s always positives and negatives playing the same team in the space of a week, the positives being obviously we beat them, the negatives are they gonna want revenge and they’re gonna come guns blazing.

“But we need to be up to the challenge, we’ve prepared well, the mentality has been the same and ja, I mean, we know them, we know their strengths, we know their weaknesses, we know their players.

“Now obviously was a bit of a challenge because they they signed so many players during the break so now we know what they’re about.

“But the main thing is to focus on ourselves, we want to climb the ladder. We want to climb up the log and ja, preparations has been going well, don’t have any problems.

“The mood in the camp has been positive, it’s been good, rightfully so because we worked very hard and obviously we got a positive result.

“So ja, we just looking forward to the game, and it’s gonna be a different ballgame, it’s a league game now, so we want to go out there and fight and hopefully get a positive result which is three points or a draw, any points would be lovely for us.”
