Zinnbauer Not Taking Maritzburg Lightly

Orlando Pirates Head Coach Josef Zinnbauer says they will not take Maritzburg United lightly when they meet in the DStv Premiership this weekend.

Pirates face Maritzburg at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday, and while Maritzburg lost in the midweek, Zinnbauer says Ernst Middendorp is an experienced coach, and his team will be motivated to face Pirates.

Zinnbauer says with games coming thick and fast, recovery is important, and he wants to to make sure the team he puts out is fresh and ready.

“First we had a good recovery, and now the focus is on this next game,” Zinnbauer told Pirates TV.

“We know we have an opponent with a new coach, a new coach with a lot of experience in this league, and he’s very flexible in the systems.”

“They lost their last game yes, but remember they had Kaizer Chiefs and won the game, and it’s a tough game for us, it’s an away game, but it’s possible that we fight for three points.”

“Firstly we need freshness on the field, we have to see what’s ready for the next ninety minutes, we have a lot of games now in a row.”

Pirates will be without Tshegofatso Mabaso, Abel Mabaso, Zakhele Lepasa and Paseka Mako through injury, while there also concerns over Gabadinho Mhango.
