Zwane Wants To Bring Cup Home

Kaizer Chiefs assistant Arthur Zwane says their ultimate aim for the season is to still compete for the two trophies available.

Zwane reacted to the Nedbank Cup draw where Chiefs were paired with TS Galaxy in the round of 32.

Zwane says their ultimate goal is to win the cup ending the club’s trophy draught which has been going for over six years.

“We’ll take one game at a time,” Zwane told the Chiefs’ media department.

“And obviously, we are a team that needs to grind results. And we were hoping and wishing that we’ll go as far as we want to in the cup, and be in the final and bring it home. And why not [win it], that’s our aim.”

‘10111’ as he’s affectionally known also added that while the DStv Premiership race is going to be difficult, it’s not ‘over until the fat lady sings’.

“And ja, and push in like league games as well with the hope that the results will be in favour of us and we can be up there come end of the season competing for the number one spot, ja, I think that’s the ultimate goal for us,” he continued.

“Yes, it looks like maybe it’s out of reach, but we still believe that, anything can happen because that’s football, anything can happen, as you know it’s never over until the fat lady sings.”

Chiefs are currently fourth on the league table, 16 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
