Maritzburg United have parted ways with head coach Zipho Dlangalala by mutual consent, the club announced on Monday.
The Team of Choice sit in seventh place of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with just five wins from 13 games.
What made matters worse is that Maritzburg have won just once in their last six games, and are currently seventh on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table.
With pressure on for the club to return immediately to top flight football, the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates youth coach did only last 13 games into the season.
“Maritzburg United Football Club and Head Coach, Zipho Diangalala have mutually agreed to part ways, effective 27* November 2023,” read the statement.
“This decision has been reached amicably and by mutual consent. Maritzburg United Football Club would like to express its appreciation to Coach Dlangalala for his dedication, hard work and contributions during his tenure with the club. The club wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
“The Football Club will commence the search for a new Head Coach and will provide updates as the process unfolds.”
