Newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship side Hope FC have secured the signature of former Mamelodi Sundowns DStv Diski Challenge side winger Selwyn Stevens.

In their first season in the ABC Motsepe League after purchasing the status of Sea Point Swifts in 2025, Hope FC signed quality players such as Craig Martin, Clayton Daniels, Ruzaigh Gamaldien, Dean Solomons, Ayanda Patosi, and Masilakhe Phohlongo and gained promotion to professional football immediately.

‘The Immortals’, who are run by Keagan Buchanan as CEO, won Stream A of the league and later also triumphed in the ABC Motsepe League playoffs to secure their spot in next season’s Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The 18-year old is the club’s first official signing. He came through Cape Town Spurs youth development before joining Sundowns. ‘Juju’ as he is affectionally known has been free agent after leaving Sundowns earlier this year.

“HOPE FC is proud to welcome South African youth international Selwyn Stevens to The Immortals,” the club stated.

“A player with immense talent, ambition, and a bright future ahead of him, Selwyn returns to the Mother City ready for the next chapter of his journey.

“We believe HOPE FC is an environment where young players can grow, thrive, and fulfil their potential — and we’re excited to be part of that journey with him.

“Welcome to the family, Juju.”

The move to Hope FC comes as the club aims to sustain their status in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The Cape Town-based recently parted ways with head coach Dylan Dean and a new coach is yet to be appointed.
