Cape Town City goalkeeper Darren Keet feels they’ve put together a strong squad for this season, and ahead of the MTN8 semi-finals, he is feeling confident about their possibilities.
City play defending champions Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals, with the first leg set to be played on Tuesday in Cape Town.

Keet as goalkeeper arguably has the best view of how the team is looking, and iDiski Times asked the 35-year-old for his impressions of how things are looking.
“At training and everything we’ve done so far has been brilliant,” Keet replied to iDiski Times.
“We went to Polokwane and played on a disaster of a pitch, which wasn’t ideal. So to be honest, the view wasn’t the best, but we did the job we needed to do, and we’ve come back to training, and we’ve continued the good work.
“And what’s been good, is there’s been an improvement since then also. So we keep improving. And I think, as everyone has said, we’ve actually put together a decent squad this season.
“So we’re actually looking forward to the semi-finals, and then the season ahead also. But obviously we’re all here for the MTN8, and that’s what we’re looking forward to at the moment. That’s the next big test, and I think we’re prepared for it,” he said.
Keet kept a clean sheet in the last eight against Sekhukhune United, and is looking to do that again on Tuesday against Pirates.
“It’s something we’ve spoken about, playing at home first, the most important thing is to get a couple of goals and to keep a clean sheet, to take away back to Orlando,” Keet said.
“Look, it’s always going to be a hell of a task. But like I’ve said before, we prepared for it. We’ve got a stable defence. We’ve got a stable team at the moment, and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to do it.
“So clean sheets are always vitally important, for keepers, and as well for the rest of the team. So a good clean sheet and a few goals is definitely what we’re looking for,” he added.
