Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe has explained what was happening, when he was seen talking on his cellphone on the bench during extra-time in their 1-0 MTN8 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Rise and Shine were 1-0 down after Thabang Matuludi’s own goal against ten-man Sundowns when Mohafe was spotted on television having a phone conversation.
But during half-time of extra-time Mohafe was seen on his phone on the bench and later said he was speaking to other ‘technical team members’, getting advice before he made a change.
“With me calling, I have to to get advice from my other technical team members,” Mohafe explained to media after the game.
“I’m not a one-man show.
“So I had to call to finalise what is in my mind, and we have to discuss about that before I make my final decision.”
