Orlando Pirates have confirmed defensive duo Tapelo Xoki and Paseko Mako remain sidelined going into their MTN8 clash against SuperSport United.
Pirates come into the season with renewed vigour after an impressive pre-season campaign in Spain and several new recruits ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Among those are Gilberto, Selaelo Rasebotja and Thalante Mbatha, with the latter duo coming from their opponents this weekend.
But head coach Jose Riveiro will be missing Mako and Xoki, as confirmed by the club’s official website on Friday afternoon.
Both players are carrying injuries from last season with captain Innocent Maela, Deon Hotto the options at left-back, while Thabiso Sesane, Sandile Mthethwa and Nkosanthi Sibisi form the centre-back options available to play alongside Olisa Ndah.
Two two sides meet at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 18h00.
