Dondol Stars coach Vincent Rammoni looked to ease the pressure on goalkeeper Sphamandla Dumede after a stellar performance in the Nedbank Cup.
The ABC Motsepe League side has been giant killers in the Nedbank Cup following them knocking out Supersport United in the last 32, then followed by AmaZulu in the last 16.
Goalkeeper Sphamandla Gumede has been shining throughout the tournament making some important saves and leading his side to the quarterfinals of the cup.
Rashamuse who’s the head coach praised his goalkeeper but asked that he mustn’t be compared with the likes of Ronwen Williams and Itumeleng Khune because he’s still growing in this game, but without any doubt, he will be too for the country in the future.
“I can’t compare my goalkeeper to Itumeleng Khune or Ronwen Williams, those are top keepers,” Rashamuse told journalists.
“Spha is still a child he is learning. He will be a great keeper for the country in the future. I think that’s the best possible answer that I can give.
“He can distribute, he can read the game, he is a top shot-stopper. He made a mistake there we saw.
“It says to answer to anyone else that Spha is still young he will grow. There’s still much room for improvement. I think he is a top keeper for the level that we are playing.”
