Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye says he’d like to see more from the side’s striker Flavio Da Silva.
Da Silva, 29, has been one of the few reliable men upfront for Amakhosi since joining them at the start of the current campaign.
The man from Guinea-Bissau has scored four goals in his nine league appearances and converted the penalty in Chiefs’ 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup last 32 round on Wednesday.
But Khanye felt the encounter at the DHL Stadium wasn’t one of Silva’s best, adding that the forward should show more especially, because he is an international player.
“For me, I don’t think Silva had a good game,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“He is an international player, we want more. We want to see him creating space, taking somebody on as a striker. I see him receiving the ball facing his own goals but I want to see more from him.
“I’ve seen him heading the ball once or twice but if they don’t cross to you what are you going to do because it’s like these guys were playing with three at the back, four when you add him.
“And Gavin said ‘thank you, this guy cannot turn, even if I send one player to him he is not going to turn’.”
