Khune Keen On Bafana Role

Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says he would be keen on accepting a role as Goalkeeper Coach at Bafana Bafana.

With the Nedbank Cup semi-finals having kicked off this past Sunday, as Orlando Pirates edged Marumo Gallants 1-0 and Kaizer Chiefs dispatching Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 to set up a Soweto Derby cup final next month, Khune took part in a fiery Agree or Disagree challenge with a passionate Pirates fan.

From backing Orlando Pirates for a Nedbank Cup three-peat to defending his own legacy, Khune didn’t hold back, making bold calls that had fans talking.

Former Amakhosi goalkeeper Brian Baloyi was also part of the debate and was asked who was the better shot stopper between the two, praising Khune and even suggesting a new role for him.

“I think you are the better goalkeeper. You should even be Bafana Bafana’s goalkeeper coach,” Baloyi stated, which left Khune humbled.

“Hopefully, the doors will open,” the former Amakhosi man replied.

“I will take that opportunity when it comes to be a goalkeeper coach and help transfer my skills to the future goalkeepers of South Africa.”
