Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has insisted he was surprised by the rumours that he could leave the club by the end of the season.
The Tunisian mentor became the coach to finally end the club’s 10-year trophy drought after beating Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final.
However, despite the win which sent the Khosi faithful into raptures a report by Sunday Times cast a doubt over Nabi’s future at the club, as it stated the coach will depart by the end of 2024/25.
Nabi himself addressed those rumours directly, with Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr in the same room, saying he is fully focussed on finishing the league strong and still has a year left on his contratc.
“I’m very surprised about these rumours and notions because I’m very concentrated for the remaining two games that are coming,” he told Robert Marawa on Radio947.
“We are very concentrated for the remaining two games, because it’s very important to finish in the top 8.
“I don’t want to lose the momentum that the cup has created. I still have a contract and I’m not worries about that.
“I don’t think it’s the best moment to talk about that.
“Kaizer Chiefs is my family. I have a mission and responsibility, today I want to enjoy the success.”
