After Orlando Pirates beat Mamelodi Sundowns to the 2023/24 Nedbank Cup, the Buccaneers have secured themselves R7 million in prize money.
Jose Riveiro’s men beat the DStv Premiership champions 2-1 after goals by Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng turned Themba Zwane’s opener around.

As a consequence, Pirates secured back-to-back Nedbank Cup titles as well as cup doubles after winning the last two MTN8 trophies as well.
The team have somewhat developed into cup specialists, with Riveiro still having a 100% record in the Ke Yona Cup.
His side’s heroics have earned the Sea Robbers a R7 million cheque from Nedbank, while runners-up Sundowns received R2.5 million.

Semi-finalists Chippa United and Stellenbosch FC each got R1 million, respectively.
