Chippa United coach Thabo September has explained that veteran midfielder Andile Jali is a big part of the side’s plans despite not featuring much recently.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder was a marque signing for the Gqeberha-based outfit this season and has made 12 appearances in all competitions scoring two goals.
Jali was a second half substitute as the Chilli Boys succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup last 16 clash at FNB stadium on Saturday evening with September saying he is getting what he needs from Jali which includes the guidance of younger players.
“I think for AJ, he’s playing his part in terms of the team and what we wanted him to do,” September told the media.
“He’s helping the young players to grow. We are introducing the likes of Giovanni [Philander], the likes of Papama [Tyongwana]. There’s other boys that we are introducing like Boy Madingwane. So, he’s helping us in that regard.

“On the field, he still has a big part to play. Yes, he had a muscle strain two, three weeks back.
“He’s coming back from that but as soon as he’s back into top shape, he is a key part of the team”.
