Soweto Derby Sold Out

The upcoming Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates has been sold out, the Premier Soccer League confirmed.

Amakhosi are hosting their bitter rivals in the Nedbank Cup semi-final, with a place in the final up for grabs.

Chiefs last reached the final in 2013 when they beat SuperSport United 1-0 to lift their only Nedbank Cup trophy (since the latest revamp of the competition).

Pirates, meanwhile, reached the final in 2011 and 2014, beating Black Leopards and Bidvest Wits 3-1.

After Chiefs have beaten Pirates in five successive derbies, including two league doubles over their rivals, their is lots of interest in Saturday’s clash, with not just bragging rights once again up for grabs, but also a spot in the final.

On Friday, it has been confirmed that all tickets for South Africa’s biggest game have once again been sold out.

“Please note that tickets for tomorrow’s #NedbankCup Semifinal Fixture between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are sold out,” the PSL said via a statement.

“Gates open at 11h00. Ticket holders are urged to arrive early.”
