Tso Makes Bold Rele-Jomo Claim

iDiski TV analyst Benedict Vilakazi has made a bold claim about that winger Relebohile Mofokeng could have easily played in any Orlando Pirates generation.

Mofokeng has been influential for the Buccaneers this term and was in fine form once again assisting both of Patrick Maswanganyi’s goals as Pirates survived a late onslaught to beat Richards Bay 3-1 and progress to the Nedbank Cup last 16.

The former Pirates skipper heaped huge praise on Mofokeng saying the 20-year-old is smart in his approach to the game and could have played with the likes of Dr Ephraim ‘Jomo’ Sono and even his own era as he is also not a selfish player.

“This boy is just too smart; the football he’s playing is on another level,” said Tso on iDiski TV.

“This boy is something else and when we talk about him it’s like we are selling him, but the boy is selling himself with what he’s doing on the field of play. This boy could have played in the era we didn’t get to watch of the Prince Jomo Sono. He could have played in our era with the late Gift [Leremi], Cheese [Lebohang Mokoena], [Joseph] Makhanya, Steve [Lekoelea]. There is no era he couldn’t have played in with the way he plays his football.

“The reason he was going to play is that he is a winger that we all know what a winger needs to do. When you cut in, you cut in for a reason and you need to create a chance or score. This boy is not greedy. When he’s not in a good position to score he knows that I’ve got somebody, and I think he’s got a good listening skill. Look at the how he weighed that pass for Tito [Patrick Maswanganyi] when he made the run from behind. That boy is something else.”
