AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has shared his views ahead of their clash with giant killers Casric Stars, the side that stunned Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup.
Few expected the Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit to cause an upset at Orlando Stadium, but Casric Stars delivered a shock result by eliminating the Buccaneers to book their place in the quarterfinals.
Usuthu will host the lower-division side at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm as both teams battle for a place in the semifinals.
Zwane admitted that preparing for Casric Stars will be challenging, as his side has limited knowledge about them and has only seen brief glimpses of their play.
However, he stressed that AmaZulu will approach the match with full focus, knowing the importance of advancing to the next round.
“If they can be able to knock out Orlando Pirates and they are oozing confidence, they believe in themselves,” said Zwane.
“And let alone that they knocked out Orlando Pirates, in actual fact, they played very well in that game. We watched the game and analysed them, they did not show respect to Orlando Pirates.
“They pressed high, they made sure they remained compact and most of the time when they had turnovers, they looked dangerous.
“They are also a very good transition team. So, we’re going to have to bring our A game in order to unlock them firstly and secondly we don’t know about their approach and they come into this game fresh and yet we played on Wednesday. We are campaigning in the PSL, we can’t complain about such. We have to manage that.
“Our players as well, they should be at a level where they know that we have to go through to the next round.”
