Egypt legend Ahmed Hossam Mido has insisted Al Ahly’s rivals Zamalek should look at signing Percy Tau.
Tau, 30, has been linked with a move away from the Egyptian giants over questions marks about his relationship with head coach Marcel Koller.
The Bafana Bafana winger has literally won every trophy on offer in Egypt, and his current contract is running our in June 2025.
However, he has currently lost he place in the Bafana squad of Hugo Broos, who insisted Tau needs to play more regularly than he has recently done at Al Ahly, urging him to move clubs.
Now, Mido has reiterated his stance that Zamalek should be going after the South African.
“I’d welcome Percy Tau’s presence at Zamalek,” he said on On Time Sports, as per Koraplus.

“Tau is a great player with great experience and knows the Egyptian league well.”
Zamalek are in another rebuilding phase under Portuguese coach Jose Gomes. They did win the CAF Confederations Cup last season, and the CAF Super Cup against Al Ahly on penalties in September, but lost the Egyptian Super Cup to Ahly last month, with Tau netting his spot-kick in the shootout win.
