Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba was recognised by his club for his good form in October, when he was named Strasbourg’s player of the month.
Mothiba, who returned to the Bafana squad earlier this year after a lengthy absence that was partly due to injuries, has been in good form for Patrick Vieira’s team this season.
However, in October, Strasbourg failed to win a game, though Mothiba’s goal against Rennes earned them a point last week. Prior to that, they had lost to both PSG and Nantes.
Mothiba started against both PSG and Nantes, but came off the bench in the draw against Rennes. He was voted Player of the Month by the club’s fans, receiving 28.3% of the votes.
The Bafana striker beat Matz Salts, who had 26.2%, and Angelo Gabriel with 12.3%.
He is expected to be named in the final 23-man squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers, having already been named in the provisional squad by Hugo Broos.
