South African international Fagrie Lakay has won his first trophy in Egypt after beating ZED FC 1-0 in the Egyptian Cup final.
Lakay, 27, recently signed a new deal with Pyramids and has rewarded his team with 12 goals in 2023/24.
One of his most important came in the Egyptian Cup semi-final, as Pyramids drew 1-1 with El Masry before winning on penalties.
On Friday, Lakay featured just 45 minutes, as he was taken off at half-time. But his side managed to lift the trophy after Fiston Mayele scored a 87th minute winner.
It was the first time in 13 years that neither Al Ahly nor Zamalek lifted the Egyptian Cup, while Pyramids claimed their first major trophy.
