After his stellar performance over the weekend, Moreirense winger Kobamelo Kodisang has been named in the Liga Portugal Team of the Week.
Following a five-star performance in a space of just 35 minutes, Kodisang has been rewarded by Portuguese league by being named in the Team of the Week for match day 14.
The Bafana Bafana international, who missed out on Hugo Broos’ 50-man preliminary squad for the African Cup of Nations, scored a goal and laid two assists after coming on in the 65th minute in his side’s 5-2 win over Portimonense.
With the game tied at 2-2, Kodisang first set up the 3-2 by for Andre Luis before scoring the 4-2 himself and assisting the 5-2 by Matheus Aias – with all three goals scored in the last 10 minutes of the game..
The contribution he made in the seven-goal thriller helped his side to move to sixth place, just four points behind European spot.
It was Kodisang’s first goal since Moreirense’s promotion to the Portuguese top flight after he scored 11 goals and set up five more to help the club return to the Liga Portugal last season
