St Louis City midfielder Njabulo Blom has returned to the club after serving his one-match suspension.
Blom, 24, was absent from training on match day minus one as City was preparing to face Portland Timbers.
Interim coach John Hackworth confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Blom had been suspended by the club after breaking the club’s internal rules.
The suspension comes after there was a commotion at the club just before the penalty shootout against Mexican side FC Juarez, which saw Blom not returning to the pitch for penalties.
However, the latest information received by iDiski Times states that the Bafana Bafana midfielder is back with the team and he is preparing to face Club America in the round of 16 of the League Cup.
Hackworth had stated that he has a good relationship with Blom and the suspension was to reprimand him, though he also emphasised he will be welcomed into the team.
The 24-year-old is in the last four months of his contract even though there’s a two-year option in his deal which is yet to be exercised.
