Philadelphia Union coach Bradley Carnell believes Kaizer Chiefs loanee Njabulo Blom can be one of the best defensive midfielders in the MLS.
Blom signed for St Louis City SC at the start of the 2023 season where Carnell was also coaching, playing 28 matches that campaign, scoring once and assisting once as well.
However, Blom was sent on loan to his former side in the Betway Premiership after making 16 appearances and scoring one goal in 2024.
Carnell spoke to iDiski Times writer Matshelane Mamabolo in edition 190 of the newspaper where he stated the 25-year-old’s case.
“I think Jabs had an excellent 2023 campaign,” Carnell told iDiski Times.
“In 2024 he did have some injury concerns and just never got into a good rhythm again.
“On any day he can be one of the best defensive midfielders in the league with a certain style of play.”
