Chaine Opens Up On His Friend Joining Mokwena At Wydad

Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine says Sean Louw deserves to work for a big team such as Wydad Athletic Club.

Louw left Betway Premiership side Chippa United in July 2024 to join Rulani Mokwena in Casablanca as part of the goalkeeping department, with Chaine having worked with the former during his time at the Chilli Boys in the 2022/23.

Chaine said their relationship transcended into friendship, and speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu, in edition 168 of the newspaper, the 27-year-old shot-stopper reckons Louw is deserving of the move to North Africa because of his work ethic and easily acclimatising.

“I speak to him on a regular basis, and he knows what we always talk about and the thing with Sean is his work ethic,” Chaine told iDiski Times.

“We always talk about how we can always improve ourselves and each other, from a player to coach and coach to player. And we have that type of friendship of when its work, its work and I don’t know [how] we got to this point.

“But for me, he deserves it, and he’s worked hard for it, and he could have just went into any type of environment based on how hard he works. And based on how he always wants to improve and how he always wants to get better.”
