Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has called on his troops to maintain consistency after returning to the top of the NBC Premier League.
Davids’ charges reclaimed top spot following a comfortable 3-0 victory against Tanzanian Prisons, a result which also saw them leapfrog rivals Young Africans SC, who were held to a goalless draw by JKT Tanzania.
The Reds of Msimbazi are now sitting top of the league table with 47 points after 18 matches and Davids’ dream to end the dominance of Yanga continues with 12 matches remaining and the South African coach has called for consistency from his side.
“Last week we were one point behind, this week we are one point ahead, it doesn’t make a difference, the league is long,” Davids told Simba SC TV.
“We have to be consistent every match that we play is a match that we have to get three points, so one point ahead, one point behind, we have to be consistent.

“We can’t look at the league table, we have to just focus on the next match.”
Simba’s next encounter is against Dodoma Jiji FC at home who they narrowly beat 1-0 in the first round by 1-0.
Jiji are in 11th place in the league table with 20 points after 18 games and have won just one match in the last six matches, drawing once and losing lost four.
