Fadlu Secures Another Win As Simba Narrows Gap On Yanga

Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids led his charges to a third consecutive victory following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Mashujaa on Friday.

Having secured back-to-back wins against Namungo with a convincing 3-0 scoreline and a narrow 1-0 victory over Tanzania Prisons, the South African-born tactician was looking to bag yet another three points in order to keep up with league leaders and arch-rivals Young Africans.

The win for the Reds of Msimbazi, courtesy of Stephen Mukwala’s 97th minute strike, was enough to see Davids and his men consolidate third spot and move to within just two points of Yanga at the top after nine matches.

The biggest upset of the weekend was Yanga going down 1-0 to Azam at home with Gibril Sillah netting the solitary goal in the 33rd minute.
