Kodisang Awarded After League-Winning Season In Portugal

South African winger Kobamelo Kodisang has been named in the Liga Sabseg Team of the Season after an impressive league-winning season with Moreirense.

The 23-year-old who has been on the fringes of the senior national team squad was one of the standout out players for the club as they returned to the top flight at the first time of asking after suffering relegation a season prior.

His 11 goals and five assists in the league propelled them to a 10-point difference over SC Farense in second place during his season-long loan from Braga SC, but ‘Koba’ will now remain at the club he spent on loan with, his agent Mike Makaab confirmed to iDiski Times.

Kodisang, who made his professional debut in South African football at the age of 15 for the now-defunct Platinum Stars will now look forward to his first full season in the Primeira Liga next season.

He first arrived in the third tier with Sanjoanense on loan from Bidvest Wits, which then led to his switch to Braga, where he only made one appearance for the first team, but spent most of his time in the second tier with Braga B – where he was a standout performer.

Last season, he was close to joining Kaizer Chiefs before talks broke down after Braga activated a close in his contract.

The player confirmed to iDiski Times that he’s now completed a permanent move ahead of the 2023/24 season after they activated a clause that came into effect after winning promotion to the Primera Liga, said to be a three-year deal with an option to extend.
