South African attacker Thembinkosi Lorch scored on debut to earn Libyan giants Al Ittihad a 1-0 home win over Al Shomooa in the Libyan Cup on Sunday.
‘Nyoso’s strike saw unbeaten Al Ittihad record eight wins with a single draw in nine matches.
The 32-year-old completed an abrupt move from the Moroccan side Wydad Casablancato Libya after receiving a lucrative offer worth around $75,000 [approximately R1.2 million] per month on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Lorch scored the only goal of the match which came late in the 83rd minute.
