Thembinkosi Lorch got a starting berth and played 80 minutes as Wydad Athletic Club narrowly lost 1-0 to Portuguese giants Porto FC in a friendly international played at the Mohammed V Stadium on Saturday night.
Despite a bright start from the home side, it was Porto who asserted themselves as they pinned Wydad against the wall dominating with over 70% ball possession.
That resilience would eventually pay off as Samu Aghehowa broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a tap-in from close range past Youssef El Motie to make it 1-0.
Lorch did get a shot on target in the 56th minute but saw his effort saved by Diogo Costa before the whistle went for an offside.
The Wydad number 4 got another chance in the 73rd minute but his sailed off target from a tight angle.
Porto held on to hand Amine Benhachem and his side the narrow defeat.
