Cassius Mailula has revealed how having Thembinkosi Lorch at Wydad Athletic Club helped him during his time in Morocco.
Mailula, 24, has left the Moroccan giants after the ending of his loan deal and is now back on the books of Toronto FC, who are open to offers, according to the player’s agent, Karabo Tshabuse.
While Lorch’s future is yet to be decided after his impressive showing at the FIFA Club World Cup, Mailula shared how having Lorch Casablanca made things easier for him – on and off the pitch.
“I think having one person that comes from the same country as you actually helped us,” he told Andile Ncube on Metro FM.
“It made me to feel, how can I put, to feel free if I want to share something with him because of the language.
“It actually made things easier for me to play on the pitch because he would be able to communicate something with me, to fix something and I can be able to do the same back to him.
“Actually, having him was really amazing, because we also stayed at the same complex, we’d go to training together, even off the pitch we’d spend more time together instead of being alone where you can’t go out alone, you can’t do certain things alone.
“That also helped me a lot to feel at home.”
