Bafana Bafana duo Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Puso Dithejane both featured for Chicago Fire who ran out 3-1 victors over Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer on Wednesday morning.
The victory propelled Gregg Berhalter’s troops into fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 45 points after 27 matches.

‘TLB’, who has just returned from a three-month injury layoff, racked up 90 minutes while Dithejane who was part of the Bafana squad for the three matches against Guinea, Eritrea and Egypt – scoring the winner against the Pharaohs, came on as a substitute in the 75th minute.
Jonathan Bamba was first to break the deadlock in the ninth minute for the home side.
Chicago then doubled their lead just five minutes after the interval through Philip Zinckernagel.
Mathías Laborda pulled one back for Vancouver in the 73rd minute, but any hopes of a comeback were dashed as Fire made it 3-1 via a Maren Haile-Selassie strike in the 88th minute.
Both South Africans will now be hoping to feature more for the US side ahead of Bafana’s crunch 2027 AFCON back-to-back qualifiers against Kenya next month.
