Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Sipho Mbule scored his side’s first goal and assisted the second as Zakho FC drew 2-2 with Diyala SC on Tuesday.
Mbule, 28, left the Buccaneers on a free transfer after last season and started a new chapter at Iraq Stars League side.
After already putting in a Man of the Match performance in the league’s opener, Mbule was again highly influential on Tuesday.
In their 2-2 tie with Diyala SC, Mbule opened the scoring in the 39th minute, before the visitors equalised in first-half injury-time.
Mbule then assisted Zakho’s second via Gubari Sherko in the 68th minute but the visitors again managed to draw level in the 86th minute.
Last season, he made 23 appearances in his sole campaign for Pirates, mostly in the first half of the campaign when he even returned to the Bafana Bafana squad.
However, he struggled to replicate the form and game-time in the second half of the season, leading to the Buccaneers announcing his exit.
