Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a hat-trick to hand Pitso Mosimane’s his third straight defeat at Esteghlal FC.
Mosimane’s side went down 3-0 to Saudi giants Al Hilal in the Asian Champions League, with former Fulham and Newcastle United striker Mitrovic scoring all three goals.
While Al Hilal moved to 12 points from four games, Esteghlal stayed on just three.
The defeat was the third straight loss for the Iranian giants since Mosimane took over after back-to-back league defeats.
But Al Hilal are as tough as they can get, with the Saudi giants winning the treble last season and suffering just one defeat in now 70 games under Jorge Jesus.
