He leaves the Buccaneers after breaking into the first team in 2023, having progressed through the club’s youth academy.
Mofokeng revealed that he was set to move abroad before the start of last season.
However, he told the club’s chairman that he wanted to stay and help Orlando Pirates win the league title before making the move to Europe.
“I was also supposed to leave but I told the chairman that I won’t leave before I win you the league,” said Mofokeng during the interview with SNAWA on Metro FM.
“I think I felt I wasn’t ready to leave, I wanted to fight for the badge before I leave.
“I think when I did that the chairman was very happy, that’s why I’m very proud to be one of the players who won the league with Pirates.”
