Mokwena Confirms Badela’s Role

Al-Ittihad SC head coach Rulani Mokwena has confirmed that Sinethemba Badela will serve as assistant coach of the first team and also help with the reserve team.

Mokwena’s work in Libya at Al Ittihad SC started positively, as he kicked off his stint with a comfortable 4-1 win in the Libyan cup against Abu Salim to advance to the quarter-finals.

Mokwena almost kept the same technical team he had in Algeria at MC Alger and just added technocrat Badela, who joined them in Libya after parting ways with Durban City in South Africa.

During a lengthy unveiling press conference with the media, Mokwena also explained Badela’s role in the technical team.

“We have coach Sinethemba Badela; he will be serving as an assistant coach. You will quickly sense that most of us have dual responsibilities,” Mokwena said.

“Coach Themba will also assist us with the reserve team. We’ve already started; we watched the U19s in training, so coach Themba will help bridge the gap and with the induction of youngsters because we would love to give lots of opportunities.

“Our vision is to have many more Libyan players in the first team who come through the club’s academy, so welcome to coach Themba.”
